Meow or Never
An Atlanta non-profit focused on TNR (trap-neuter-return) & community cat care
Meow or Never is a Georgia 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to help the stray and feral cats and kittens of Atlanta through humane TNR (trap-neuter-return), or adoption into loving homes when returning or relocating is not possible. As an all-volunteer group, we are also dedicated to community outreach and education, promoting low-cost spay/neuter programs readily available for domestic and community cats. We also sponsor spay/neuters for owned pets (both cats and dogs).
Community cats are outdoor, unowned cats who are often called feral cats or stray cats. Feral cats are unused to human contact and are generally not friendly or able to be touched. Stray cats are socialized cats who are interested in humans, often abandoned by owners or born as unwanted litters to domestic pet cats. Almost 100% of feral cats brought to shelters are euthanized because they are not suitable for adoption.
What is a community cat?
Trap-Neuter-Return is a non-lethal, effective way to keep the community cat population in check. Simply euthanizing unwanted outdoor cats has been shown to be ineffective, as new cats will continue to reproduce and move into the area.
Instead, we humanely trap the feral or stray cat(s), take them to a licensed veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. After a 24-48 recovery period, we return them to their familiar outdoor area which they were originally trapped.
What is TNR?
If you see something, DO something. If you see stray cats in your neighborhood or workplace, contact us to learn about the TNR process. Volunteers are always needed to set and monitor traps, transport cats to and from the clinic for surgery, and foster and promote kittens and cats we have available for adoption.
And of course, we can only do this as long as we have funding. Your donations cover spay/neuter costs and medical care for injured and sick community cats.
